Posizione di Post-Doc presso l'Università di Nancy
Su richiesta del prof. Sergio Lanteri (DI.VA.P.R.A., Universita' degli Studi di Torino) si riporta il seguente bando:
16 months post-doc, starting March 2012
Location: Nancy-Lorraine (90 min from Paris by train), France
Net salary: 2000 Euros/month, including social security.
Employer: the University of Lorraine
Position in the "Plant Secondary Metabolites" research group, a part of Laboratory "Agronomie et Environnement" (LAE), a joint research laboratory between Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique and the University of Lorraine.
Mission:
Job description: This project is part of the global program BIOPROLOR developed in collaboration with Plant Advanced Technologies-SA (biotech company, Nancy, France). The aim of the project is to develop a new plant protein expression system for high value therapeutical proteins, based on carnivorous plants (Drosera, Nepenthes). Such plants display the remarkable property to excrete natural proteins on the outer part of their leaves. This property addresses one of the major problems of plant recombinant protein technologies: the downstream process (separation/purification) which severely affects the total cost on other plants that store the recombinant proteins in tissues such as seeds or leaves. However, a possible drawback linked to these model plants is that they naturally excrete proteases amongst other proteins in the leaf liquid. The mission of the post-doc will be to study the Nepenthes & Drosera secretomes (2D gel electrophoresis / MALDI-TOF) and to characterize protein trafficking that leads to the excretion into the exogenous fluids.
Facilities available:
MALDI-TOF, LC-MS/MS, Orbitrap, Molecular Biology Labs, Proteomics Lab, cDNA bank (RNAseq) obtained from the plants.
Job requirements:
Applicants should hold a PhD and have a strong background in both Proteomics and Molecular Biology. Candidates must have excellent communication skills, ability to conduct research independently and a strong team spirit. Technical mastery in Proteomics, Molecular Biology, Histology, Bioinformatics (cDNA library analysis) will be appreciated.
