Project Title: Best agricultural practices for coexistence between GM and conventional agriculture
Project Description: The AGRILIFE unit (Agriculture and Life Sciences in the Economy), AGRITECH action, is looking for a senior researcher to work on the European Coexistence Bureau (ECoB) project (http://ecob.jrc.ec.europa.eu/).
The ECoB organises the exchange of technical-scientific information on best agricultural management practices for coexistence and, on the basis of this process, develop consensus agreed crop-specific guidelines for coexistence measures.
The successful candidate will, under the supervision of the Head of the ECoB, manage groups of experts from EU member states on a crop-specific basis. In cooperation with these groups, the candidate will identify best agricultural practices and develop written guidelines for crop-specific coexistence measures at EU level, taking account regional and local factors and economic viability of farms.
Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years research experience at post-doctoral level or a minimum of 15 years research experience after the first university degree giving access to doctoral studies (which may include periods of training such as a masters degree). Candidates who have not reached the 10 years of research experience at post-doctoral level or the 15 years of research experience after the first university degree on the date of application may also be considered as eligible to apply. However, the 10 years of research experience at post-doctoral level or the 15 years of research experience after the first university degree must be reached prior to the signature of the grantholder contract. A very good level of written and spoken English is essential and knowledge of at least one other EU language is compulsory.
