Fully funded PhD studentship available at the University of Galway
This is a project-linked PhD position in the SFI Centre for Research Training in Genomics Data Science. The PhD student will be co-supervised by Prof. Charles Spillane & Prof. Cathal Seoighe, University of Galway & and work on a research project on “Bioinformatics, molecular evolution & genome editing”. The student will join the programme as part of a cohort of 32 PhD students. For further details contact: charles.spillane@universityofgalway.ie
The SFI Centre for Research Training in Genomics Data Science is a cohort based PhD training programme with research groups based at six Irish institutions (NUI Galway, UCC, UCD, DCU, TCD and RCSI). Overall the programme will train 100 PhD students.
Entry Requirements: Applicants will need to have a BSc or MSc (or equivalent) in a field related to genomics (biochemistry, biomedical science, genetics, medicine, microbiology) or in a strongly numerate or computational field (computer science, engineering, physics, statistics, mathematics). Students should have a strong aptitude for programming and data analysis. Non-native speaker applicants will need proof of written and spoken English language competence.

Benefits:
