PostDoc Position available
The Quint lab at Halle University (Germany) invites applications for a postdoctoral position to study growth dynamics in grasses in response to global warming scenarios. Our group has a strong interest in thermomorphogenesis signaling in model and crop systems. For relevant publications from the lab, please check Ibanez et al., 2018, Current Biology; Delker et al., 2017, Trends in Plant Science; Ibanez et al., 2017, BMC Plant Biology; Quint et al., 2016, Nature Plants; Raschke et al., 2015, BMC Plant Biology; Delker et al., 2014, Cell Reports. The plant systems in the new project will include cultivated barley and wheat as well as their wild progenitors. The project includes aspects of high-throughput phenotyping from seed to flowering on state-of-the-art LemnaTec imaging facilities (collaboration with the Leibniz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research (IPK) Gatersleben) and genome-wide association studies. A strong background in handling of big datasets and image analysis is a plus. Together with its connected Leibniz Institutes IPK and the Leibniz Institute of Plant Biochemistry (IPB), Halle University has a vibrant and exciting plant research community. For detailed information on our group please see https://quintlab.landw.uni-halle.de. We are looking for a talented new member for our international team. The successful candidate is highly motivated, has a strong interest in understanding plant growth and signaling in response to abiotic stress, and demonstrated expertise in either plant molecular genetics and/or bioinformatics (=publication(s) in major international journal(s)). Previous experience with high-throughput phenotyping is an asset, but not essential. Please send a single PDF file, including curriculum vitae, motivation letter, copies of most recent diplomas and contact details of 2-3 references by e-mail to Marcel Quint (marcel.quint@landw.uni-halle.de). The position is initially available immediately until 12/2020. Please refer in your application to Reg.-Nr.: 5-133/17-D. Review of applications will begin immediately until the position is filled.
